Welcome to Echelon

Echelon is a web app for running Warhammer 40,000 Crusade campaigns. It does the job the paper Crusade Force Sheet does, and keeps unit experience, Battle Honours, Battle Scars, Requisition Points and match results in one place your whole group can see.

Everything on this page works on the free tier.

Core System Architecture & Features

Crusade Force Sheet showing Supply Limit, win/loss record, and Crusade Cards

1. Order of Battle Management

Your Order of Battle acts as your master roster. You can manage multiple forces, appoint Warlords, and track Supply Limits as your army grows from a 1,000-point patrol into a massive 3,000-point battle force.

2. Army List Importing

Import your list with a single click, as .json from NewRecruit or as .ros or .rosz from BattleScribe, NewRecruit and other builders. Echelon parses unit profiles, weapon profiles, detachment rules, and point values automatically.

3. Live Battle Companion

Use your phone or tablet on the tabletop during games to log round-by-round Victory Points, track Agendas, tally unit kills, and record unit survival status.

4. Narrative Campaigns & Stages

Join existing campaigns or host your own. Track campaign standings, territorial control, and stage progression.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Echelon free to use?

Yes. The free tier includes full roster management and Crusade Card tracking. You can join campaigns of any size on it, because the player limit applies to whoever is hosting, not to you. Free tier hosts can run 1 active campaign for up to 4 players. The paid tiers raise that.

Details available in the Subscriptions & Tiers Guide.

Which Warhammer 40K edition does Echelon support?

Both 10th and 11th Edition. New campaigns start on 11th, your Host can switch one to 10th, and the edition decides which rules apply to every force in it.

In an 11th Edition campaign you can combine up to three detachments within a Detachment Points budget, and you choose a Force Disposition each time you muster for a battle. A 10th Edition campaign takes a single detachment and shows neither of those. Homebrew rules and Host-configured detachment settings work in both.
