Subscriptions & Tiers
Most groups never need to pay. The free tier hosts a real campaign, and joining someone else's is free on every tier. The paid tiers exist for groups that outgrow the caps, and for people who would rather not see ads.

Features marked 🔜 are not available yet and are not part of what you are paying for today. They are listed so you can see where each plan is heading.
Inside the app, a small lightning bolt beside a control marks a paid feature. It is hollow when your plan does not include it, and filled when it does. Hover over it, or press and hold on a touch screen, to see which plan it comes with.
A paying player carries a badge beside their name in a campaign's standings and Players list, on the card of a campaign they host, and on their profile: a silver medal for Supporter, a gold medal for Commander. Anyone who has ever donated or subscribed also gets a red heart, which stays if they later cancel.
Archived campaigns are never deleted. They stay in your archive permanently, read-only. The auto-archive window only controls how long a completed campaign stays on your active slate.

Free Tier
Ideal for casual players and small gaming pairs.

Supporter Tier (£2.49 / month, or £24.90 / year)
Designed for active players and small club leagues.
- Host up to 3 active campaigns for up to 8 participants each.
- 100% ad-free.
- Upload custom user avatars, and campaign and roster banners.
- Add a photo to each Story Beat in a campaign you host.
- Add 1 photo to each Crusade Card (25 per roster, 250 MB total).
- Group players into alliances, up to 4 alliances per campaign, read the standings by alliance, and put players on teams within a battle.
- Supporter Discord role and channels.
- Export and print your force sheet, Crusade Cards and battle chronicle.
- Read a campaign's trends: each player's victory points, win rate, kills, deaths, honours, scars, RP spent and Crusade Points, battle by battle, in every campaign you play in.
- Read your units' history: every rank, honour, scar and battle, on each Crusade Card and across your force. It is recorded on every plan, so upgrading shows the whole record back to its start.
- Write your own stratagems and Enhancements, change a detachment's rules, and pick a homebrew detachment. In a 10th Edition campaign, which has no official set, writing stratagems, Enhancements and rules stays free. Anything you wrote before stays on your force and keeps working, whatever your plan. On the free plan what it says cannot be changed, but you can still move a stratagem or Enhancement to another detachment.
- Write your own Agendas, requisitions, Battle Traits and Crusade Relics, in either edition, where your faction's codex has its own of that kind, and before your force has a faction. Your faction's own are filled in on every plan. For a faction whose codex has none of a kind, writing that kind stays free, and on the free plan those cannot come with you to a faction that has its own. Ones you wrote before stay on your force and keep working on the free plan, but cannot be changed. See Agendas and Requisitions.
Commander Tier (£9.99 / month, or £99.90 / year)
For a club or a group running several campaigns at once.
- Everything in Supporter.
- Host up to 10 active campaigns for up to 50 participants each.
- Completed campaigns never auto-archive.
- Up to 8 alliances per campaign, for a club running several alliances at once.
- Up to 5 photos per Crusade Card (100 per roster, 1 GB total).
- Chronicle matches with battle photo galleries (25 photos per battle).
- The Supporter Discord role.
- AI unit lore generators, battle narrators, and mission scenario builders. Coming soon.
Managing Your Subscription
To subscribe:
- Open Plans & billing from your profile menu.
- Choose Monthly or Annual at the top of the page.
- Click Become a Supporter or Become a Commander, and pay on the Stripe checkout page. Echelon never sees your card details.
A promo code only works on monthly Commander, entered on that checkout page. The annual checkout does not take one, and neither does an upgrade from Supporter.
Once you are subscribed, everything else happens in the Stripe Customer Portal: changing plan, moving between monthly and annual billing, updating your card, and cancelling. Reach it from Manage Subscription on your plan's card on the same page, or Manage subscription on your profile.
Changing plan
Changing plan changes the subscription you have rather than adding a second one. You can still end up with two if you pay in two checkout tabs opened at the same time, so if you ever see two plan charges, raise it through Reporting Issues & Support to have the extra one cancelled.
Whether a change happens now or later depends on whether the new bill is bigger or smaller than the one you have.
A bigger bill starts straight away: Supporter to Commander, or monthly to annual billing. You are charged for the new plan now, less credit for the unused part of your current one, and the new tier applies as soon as that payment goes through.
A smaller bill waits until the period you have paid for ends: Commander to Supporter, or annual to monthly billing. You keep your current plan until then, and the portal shows the date it changes.
To upgrade from Supporter, click Upgrade to Commander on the Commander card. It opens the portal's plan-change screen for the subscription you already have, not a new checkout. That screen does not take a promo code. If you have one, ask on Discord and it can be applied to your subscription by hand.
One combination catches people out. Annual Supporter to monthly Commander is a smaller bill (£9.99 against £24.90), so it waits for your year to end. For Commander straight away, choose annual Commander instead.
Upgrading mid-campaign
If your campaign outgrows your tier's player limit, upgrading unlocks the blocked player slots as soon as the payment goes through, without interrupting active games. The limit that applies is always the host's tier. Your players never need to pay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do players need a paid subscription to join a Commander's campaign?
No. Players only need a free account to join any campaign, whatever its size. Only the Campaign Host requires a higher tier to expand player limits.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, from Manage Subscription on your plan's card under Plans & billing, or Manage subscription on your profile. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing renews after that. It is not a refund: see the Refund Policy if you want your money back.
Deleting your account is different: it cancels your subscription straight away, and nothing is charged after that. If the subscription cannot be cancelled at that moment, the account is not deleted, so you are never left paying for an account that no longer exists.
My card was declined. What can I do?
Talk to your bank. A declined card is almost always the bank's decision, and only the bank can change it. Banks outside the UK sometimes block a first payment to a UK business as suspected fraud: approve the payment in your banking app, or reply to the alert your bank sent, then try again. A different card works too.
Your plan does not change until a payment goes through, so a declined checkout leaves you on the tier you had.
